Marantz amp to Marantz cdp

Hi.My Marantz CD5003 player has coaxial and optical outputs but my Marantz SR5023 hasnt.Without spending a fortune what could I use to convert the signal.I dont really want to spend a fortune on an expensive DAC.Thanks

Your amp is analogue so it doesn't have a DAC inside it, hence the lack of digital inputs. The only way to connect a source to it is using a conventional analogue connection.

Just use standard phono leads to connect the line output of your CD player to the CD input on the receiver. You will be using the DAC in the CD player, so no need for an external DAC unless you decide to get into streaming from your computer.
