NEWS: Creative cuts prices of Zen 4GB and 8GB MP3 players – and adds 32GB model for £250

Creative has cut the cost of its Zen 4GB and 8GB players, with the smaller version dropping from £89.99 to £79.99, while the larger version is reduced by £20 to £99.99. There's also a new 32GB version, available for £249.99.

"This means you can get an 8GB Zen for the same price as a 4GB Apple iPod nano," says Creative.

The Zens have a built-in FM radio with 34 presets, a microphone for voice recording and can store songs in MP3 and WMA formats. They also support iTunes Plus Content (unprotected AAC files).

The new Zen 32GB can hold up to 16,000 tracks and includes an SD card slot for adding extra memory.

As for video, the Zen's 2.5in TFT display can show up to 16.7 million colours and the device will handle MJPEG or WMV9 files at 320 x 240 resolution. Owners can convert MPEG-1. MPEG-2,MPEG-4SP and DivX files using the supplied software.
