The Gemini 29 manages to be an old-fashioned-looking clock/radio without being retro, and despite not being the most secure tuner we've tested, it does at least present a clear, uncluttered sound, whether on DAB or FM.
High frequencies can be a touch forward, but otherwise music is smooth and spacious. Talk radio, too, is enjoyably balanced.
However, despite a large clear display and the all-but-obligatory iPod/MP3 input socket, there are cheaper rivals that leave it looking overpriced.
