NEWS: Naim hits the road with Bentley

High-end audio meets high-end cars in Naim's new venture – a complete audio system for Bentley.

The Salisbury company has been working for some time on the development of an audio system for the luxury cars, and is now launching Naim for Bentley, which will be available across the Bentley model range by the end of this year.

With a total output power of some 1100W, the Naim system is the most powerful line-fit in-car system available, as well as offering what Bentley describes as "unparalleled sound quality".

But there's a lot more to the amplification and speaker system than sheer power: much of the work done by Naim has been on digital signal processing to get the best sound under any circumstances.

For example, the equalisation and volume change according to the speed of the vehicle and, in the case of the convertible models, whether the roof is up or down.

After all, very different settings are required when travelling at speed on the motorway to those suited to gentle top-down cruising, but it'll be interesting to see whether the system also has a 'hooligan mode' to keep some of Bentley's more - umm - flamboyant customers happy!

Various configurations will be available across the range, with up to 15 speakers used in the Continental GT, GTC and Flying Spur models.
