RE: Week old 50GT50 Buzzing..!

Quite a few of us pounced at £999 (and managed to get extras thrown in, too).

Incidentally, the 50GT50 + BDP + 3D glasses + 3D films + 5 yr guarantee offer is no longer available. JL are out of stock. I had to arrange this with my local branch, which luckily had 1 of each left. Seems we got in there just in time.

Now we're all hoping for the same thing: a GT50 without noticeable DSE that doesn't buzz to a distracting level. The tension is killing me already!

Thankfully! It would have done my nut in if I had been told out of stock! Good luck to us both..!

Civilian, you (and others that got the GT50 bundle deal) might be interested in this "mini" (yet in fact technically thorough) review of the Panasonic 120EB BDP:

For me, if the operating noise is tolerable, and differences between PCM via  optical and DTS HDMA aren't glaring, it should be a winner.

Upscales DVD really well..! Having got it with the set, I'm content with this for now. Can anyone recommend a HDMI Cable...

That's a dangerous question to ask on a forum such as this! My advice would be: buy a cheap cable. As long as it's built sturdily enough to not fall apart and cause data interruption (i.e. complete loss of data) you'll be perfectly fine.

Did you get the Panasonic Blu-ray player already, then? If so, how is it in operation? Is it a noisy machine? Can you hear the drive whirring while playing discs? Cheers.

I was given the BR player first time around. I've never noticed any noise when I've been playing films through it. The 30 seconds of the disk loading is the only noise that is noticeable.. And that's expected! Packed TV away just now, feel sad. But, tomorrow new set should arrive. Issue free, touch wood.

Thanks for the response. Got my fingers crossed for you with the replacement GT50. Let us know how you get on.

Good to know the Blu-ray player isn't noisy...

I've actually enjoyed the BR player, better then I expected. Up scaling is really good, saying that its my only BR player so I cant compare with anything!!!
