NEWS: Musical Fidelity launches A1 Pro CD player

This is the new Musical Fidelity A1 CD Pro, which takes its name from the use of Philips' CD Pro2 disc-playing mechanism.

First used by Musical Fidelity in the A1008 CD player, it's believed by the company to be the best available.

The high-precision transport is used in conjunction with a sample rate converter and digital to analogue conversion from Burr Brown.

These, together with the company’s extensive experience in digital electronics – it points out that it made the first commercial offboard converter, the Digilog, in 1987 – allow Musical Fidelity to claim the the player is the equal of players costing several times more.

The player is heading for the shops now, and will sell for £1499.
