NEWS: Apple TV launches UK download service

The Apple TV (opens in new tab) unit might at last be starting to make sense: the company has announced the arrival of its video download service, via the iTunes store.

Viewers will be able to download episodes of hit US TV programmes, such as Lost, Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty, and downloaded programmes can also be viewed on iPods.

But the service won't be cheap; it'll cost you £1.89 an episode.
