Opera S5+
New in-ears offer CD-quality wireless transmission and complete cable-free control of iPod/iPad/iPhone

New from WireFreeHiFi  are the Opera S5+ in-ear headphones, which use the Kleer wireless transmission system to give both CD-quality sound and cable-less control of Apple's iPods, iPhones and iPads.

The £85 Opera 'phones offer 16-bit 44.1kHz transmission between the compact sender and the in-ear buds, and control of major functions such as volume, track skip and pause is available on the earbuds themselves, thanks to the highly-efficient transmission system.

Better than Bluetooth sound quality is the claim, and a single Kleer transmitter, such as the 'dongle' provided in the Opera package, can deliver music to up to four pairs of headphones.

In addition, an optional receiver can be used for wireless transmission between an Apple player and a conventional iPod dock.

The company says that 'The S5+ operates in the 2.4Ghz band minimising drop out due to other radio sources such as WiFi and Bluetooth. A Kleer radio channel occupies only 3MHz of spectrum, allowing 16 such channels across the 2.4GHz ISM band.

More after the break

'Channel  switching is accomplished in less than 800 micro-secs. Result, no drop-outs on music and no interference.'

The Opera S5+ speakers come complete with a mini-USB cable for charging, and a choice of three soft flex and double flange sleeves for the earbuds.
