An excellent all-rounder that delivers detail, dynamics and crisp timing
Against
Nothing, given the price
This is a favourite of ours – one of our Best Buys – so when we heard Chord has added plastic plugs to dampen vibration, we had to listen.
Given Dot Allison’s punching Mo’ Pop, this interconnect proves itself to have a firm grasp of dynamics and coherence, conveying tricky timing to the amp with ease, while highlighting production subtleties.
Vocals retain depth and a sense of space, and the wide sound is well integrated tonally, with a sweet and smooth treble, emotive mid-range and supple, firm bass.
There’s nothing to dislike; for the money, this Chord is a bargain.
