Hi all,

Does this AV receiver, Yamaha DSP-AX863SE, has a passive subwoofer output? (ie. pre-amplified output for subwoofers that don't have inbuilt amplifier). Or if it doesn't, can anyone suggested a suitable amp in this price range/spec that would?

As I have two sub's, one is active and powered by it's on inbuilt amp and the other is passive, requiring an amplifier.

Thank you all,

Ben

I don't know of any A/V receiver which actually has a powered sub output. You're probably better off just using the active sub.

Failing that, if you're set on using both subs, you'll need a y splitter to allow two sub cables to be run from the single sub output on the 863, then a mono power amp amp for your passive sub. Balance and levels between the two subs may be tricky to regulate though.
