SHOW NEWS: Klipsch previews wi-fi iPod dock range

US company Klipsch used the What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision Show to preview some new models on the way in the next few months.

And there's a strong emphasis on computer-stored music with products such as the £250 RoomGroove Music Centre (left).

This Ipod dock has its own speakers, with horn-loading, long a KLipsch preferred technology, used to give precise treble detail.

The iPod sits in a neat motorised dock, which slides out to accept the player at the touch of a button, and the system comes with a remote control handset. There's also a standard 3.5mm stereo input jack for other personal players.

2.4GHz wireless networking is also provided, and the company also showed a simpler dock, the £100 iGroove SXT (left).

This doesn't have wireless networking, but it will be re-engineered to create a further unit, minus the dock but with wireless capability, to work as a client speaker for the RoomGroove.

A company spokesman expected this wireless client to sell for not much more than £100, enabling a very cost-effective wireless network system to be created.
