NEWS: Outdoor LCDs show the firemen hose boss

Don't try this with your new flatscreen! Down at the other end of the high-pressure jet being wielded by these firemen is one of the new weather-resistant LCD TVs from AQUiVO - and yes, it's still working!

The company makes screens in sizes from 26in right the way up to 55in, available in HD-ready and Full HD versions, and their one-piece aluminium casework and toughened glass front panel makes them impervious to dust, humidity, the British summer and even high-pressure fire hoses.

Anti-refective glass front panels mean they're suited for watching outdoors, and you can even add on a pair of weatherproof speakers and an anti-theft wallmount bracket, which might be a sensible precaution if you're going to use the TV in the garden.

The screens conform to IP56, meaning they can also be used in spas, pool rooms and bathrooms, and prices start from around £1150 for the 26in HD-ready version and £2850 for the 42in Full HD version, going right up to the better part of £6000 for the 55in Full HD, the largest weatherproof screen on the market.

They're distributed in the UK by PSCo, and available from companies such as Waterprooftv.co.uk, whose website is full of bathroom TVs, towel-rail TVs and other such opportunities for televisual hilarity.

Oh, and if you want a serious giggle, click the attachment below to see the TV getting a hosing!
