A worthwhile improvement on a freebie connection, but not short of competition

For

  • Sturdily made
  • detailed, stable pictures and chunky sound

Against

  • Could offer starker contrasts and stronger dialogue

One thing you can say of the Infinius is that it's a solidly made cable, its durable braided finish and reassuringly meaty headshell giving it an upmarket air at odds with its modest price.

It's a solid step up over cheaper or free opposition, its impressive detail levels making a strong first impression.

However, watch longer, and you'll find a slight lack of punch to the picture, coupled to an equally reserved edge to the sound – and given that some of its rivals are more rounded in both departments, that's enough to leave this particular Infinius as a sensible three-star buy.
