Guys, I've got an an Arcam AVR-300 B&W CM 4' and Apple TV. I'm looking to improve the sound of music which is a mixture of 128 - 320kbs files. I listen to rock, pop and R&B mainly. I'm thinking of buying the above mentioned DAC but I wanted to know if this is the right way to go, or should I connect the Optical out direct to the Amp and allow the DAC's to process the stereo information or should I be looking at a different DAC.

Suggestions welcome...

I would use the DAC built in to the Arcam.
