NEWS: Atlas upgrades its Equator interconnect

p>New from Atlas Cables is an upgraded version of its popular Equator interconnect. The Scottish company has improved the quality of the conductors within the cable, and fitted it with proprietary high-performance RCA plugs.

Described as 'researched, designed and developed for assembly and manufacture in Scotland', the new cable uses 99.9997% pure oxygen-free copper wrapped in a foamed polyethylene dieletric, outside of which is a screening shield of the same high-purity copper. The outer sheath is of ivory coloured soft PVC.

The plugs fitted have a beryllium insert to ensure a tighter fit and reduce the tendency to work loose over time. The new cable sells for around £45 for a one metre pair
