As well as Blu-ray discs and DVD-video titles, it will also play DVD-Audio and SACD music discs in addition to standard CDs, plus AVCHD from DVDs and DivX, JPEG, MP3, WMA, AAC and WAV files from DVDs or SD (and SDHC) cards via a front-panel reader.
It has an Ethernet port for BD-Live compatibility, firmware downloads and other internet facilities, and uses a new SVH drive mechanism developed by Denon for low centre of gravity, minimal vibration, quiet operation and high precision.
There's also Anchor Bay's VRS video processing for i/p conversion and 1080p scaling, and Denon's Pixel Image Correction and digital noise reduction, and the analogue and digital circuits are kept apart for optimal quality.
In addition, the player offers a source direct setting, to output content directly in its original resolution.
On the audio side the player uses the company's Advanced AL24 processing, and can also connect to suitable Denon receivers using 4th-generation Denon Link, virtually eradicating jitter.
There's also a high-degree of vibration-reducing technologies, including a multilayer chassis and the company's Direct Mechanical Ground Construction.
Available in black or silver, the DBP-4010UD goes on sale at the end of November.
