The Best of the Week - 24/08/07

Hey! Guess what? Looking out of the window here at WHFSV Towers, it's stopped raining. And there's the threat of some sunshine! Never mind, sure it'll all be back to normal by next week, which will send us all scurrying back to our systems...

This week on we've...

• Reported on Paramount/Dreamworks' deal to go HD DVD exclusive – and why that won't include the Spielberg back catalogue

• Brought you news of new iPod-related stuff from Eclipse, Logitech and the Ministry of Sound

• Shown you Fatman's amazing Mothership three-box valve amp and a whole new range of modular AV receivers from NAD

• Offered you the chance to buy the NAD C315BEE amp we tested in the magazine - but hurry, as it's got to go by Monday morning!

• And launched the first of our web-exclusive competitions, giving you the chance to win a £600 Marantz DV7001 DVD/DVD-A/SACD player. There's still time to enter.

Over in the forums, we have almost 3000 users signed up (update - we hit 3000 members early on Saturday morning, so welcome aboard, kalvin!), and that Marantz competition has been attracting the most attention, with getting on for 1200 entries last time we looked. But you've also been discussing everything from choosing music to show off your system to Musical Fidelity's new 550K Superchargers, debating the merits of sub-£1000 CD players and considering in-ear headphones for portable music players.

Oh, and there's a new issue of What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision in the shops now. Click here for more details, or here to subscribe.
