NEWS: Freesat launch officially confirmed for May 6th

The What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision forums have been a hotbed (or at least a warm futon) lately of speculation regarding Freesat, the new satellite TV service.

So it's good to be able to confirm at least one concrete detail: we've been invited to the official launch on May 6th.

We could of course say "told you so", as we ran the original story here on April 18, although Freesat's PR agency remained tight lipped at the time.

The new digital satellite TV service has its big unveiling at Somerset House in London and, as well as equipment demonstrations, Freesat bigwigs and equipment manufacturers will be available to answer all our probing questions.
