NEWS: Naim's double CD celebrates a jazz giant's 70th

The Naim Label is celebrating the 70th birthday of legendary jazz bassist Charlie Haden with the re-release of two discs formerly only available as limited editions. Charlie Haden: The Private Sessions brings together in a double-disc set two Haden live albums, last released in 1994 in limited editions of just 2200 copies.

The discs have been remastered by Ken Chistianson, who mastered the original recordings, and use simple miking techniques and no overdubs to create an intimate, vibrant sound.

The set includes Haden's 50th birthday concert, given in 1987, and is available from November 12 from good record shops, Naim stockists, the Naim Label website, and as a download from iTunes.
