Atacama Equinox review

One of our regular Award-winners, but now it's met its match from newer rivals which offer more detail and heft Tested at £339

Our Verdict

Produces a wide and fast sound, but overtaken by newer rivals

  • Modular
  • stable
  • smart

  • Rivals offer more subtle detail and heft

Our Award winner for four years, the Atacama Equinox is stable and easy to build.

On it, our reference hi-fi kit produces a wide and fast sound that features a smooth midrange and responsive bass with a brilliantly lit treble, while detailing is handled well.

However, it's now met its match: rivals such as the Hi-Fi Racks Podium and Quadraspire Q4 are capable of offering both more subtle detail and heft.
