KEF’s Award winning LSX II active speaker system gets a AU$600 price cut for Prime Day
The only hi-fi system you need is more affordable than ever in this rare deal

For all the sonic benefits of a full hi-fi system of separates, you can’t beat the convenience of a pair of active speakers. Packing all the streaming and amplification smarts you need into an attractive, plug-and-play package is, well, an attractive prospect.
Not all active speaker systems are equal, of course, but there’s no denying one of the standout examples we’ve seen in recent years is the KEF LSX II, and right now, for Prime Day, it’s received a huge AU$600 price cut.
Exhibiting a similarly gorgeous design to their LS50 Meta cousins, the LSX II speaker system benefits from the esteemed brand’s Uni-Q driver that creates “a stereo image that’s like a bubble of sound”, as we said in our KEF LSX II review. All of the main wireless connectivity options are supported, along with a few physical connections and high-resolution audio.
We gave the LSX II speaker system an Award back in 2023 – the only reason it hasn’t won again since is because the LSX II LT system dethroned it (and also happens to be on sale right now). Offering incredible sound quality that should please even the most scrutinous of music aficionados, we said in our review (when listening to Tina Turner’s Proud Mary) that “Tonally, the whole presentation is extremely inviting and shows a lot of natural warmth…this rings true whether you’re listening to the speakers in a more conventional set-up on the stands or you’re sitting more up close and personal using them on a desktop”.
To that very end point, their versatility and flexibility is one of their greatest attributes. It's possible thanks to the aforementioned Uni-Q driver, which serves up a balanced soundstage no matter where you’re sitting in the room, and the fact that they’re rear-ported, although we encourage all owners to experiment with placement to find their preference.
This is a fantastic saving on an even better system, and we can’t imagine it will hang around for long. If you’re in the market for a gorgeous-looking and equally gorgeous-sounding speaker system, this is the one for you.

Max is a staff writer for What Hi-Fi?'s sister site, TechRadar, in Australia. But being the wonderful English guy he is, he helps out with content across a number of Future sites, including What Hi-Fi?. It wouldn't be his first exposure to the world of all things hi-fi and home cinema, as his first role in technology journalism was with What Hi-Fi? in the UK. Clearly he pined to return after making the move to Australia and the team have welcomed him back with arms wide open.
