NEWS: Meet the world's fastest iPod

OK, so we've seen custom-built cars with outlandish ICE systems, and multi-million pound yachts with sophisticated home cinema systems, but this was a first even for us - a Kawasaki motorbike with built-in Harman Kardon Drive+Play iPod system.

Not only is the bike decked out with a huge array of speakers, including a subwoofer on top of the petrol tank, but nestling inside the front fairing is a slot for you iPod, and mounted in the dash is the Drive+Play scroll wheel for selecting your favourite tunes when you're out on the road.

The keen-eyed among you will spot a small video screen on the back of the seat - not sure how useful that's going to be with someone riding the bike, but fellow bikers can gather round for a bit of a boogie when you park up.

During that time he has covered everything from VHS and Betamax, MiniDisc and DCC to CDi, Laserdisc and 3D TV, and any number of other formats that have come and gone. He loves nothing better than a good old format war. Andy edited several hi-fi and home cinema magazines before relaunching whathifi.com in 2008 and helping turn it into the global success it is today. When not listening to music or watching TV, he spends far too much of his time reading about cars he can't afford to buy.
