The inside track on CES 2009

After a 10 hour flight we've just touched down in Las Vegas, and while it's the middle of the night back in the UK, we're busy gearing up for the opening of the biggest consumer electronics show on the planet here in Nevada.

The Las Vegas Convention Centre will open its doors first thing in the morning, and the press conferences kick off here at 8am (around 4pm UK time).

First up is LG, swiftly followed by Toshiba, Sharp, Samsung, Sony and Panasonic.

Our laptops are primed, cameras are at the ready, so web connections permitting we hope to post the first batch of big stories around 5pm GMT.

We'll be bringing you all the latest news directly from CES here on whathifi.com, so remember to keep checking the site regularly for updates.

And in the meantime you can check out our sneak preview for a taste of what's in store.

During that time he has covered everything from VHS and Betamax, MiniDisc and DCC to CDi, Laserdisc and 3D TV, and any number of other formats that have come and gone. He loves nothing better than a good old format war. Andy edited several hi-fi and home cinema magazines before relaunching whathifi.com in 2008 and helping turn it into the global success it is today. When not listening to music or watching TV, he spends far too much of his time reading about cars he can't afford to buy.
