  • For

Internet, DAB, FM tuners; can be battery-powered with chargepak (extra); OK sound

  • Against

High-fidelity, it ain’t; not quite as good at connecting to a network as some

It can be hard enough to keep track of Pure’s range of DAB and internet radios, let alone the industry’s at large, such is the choice available.

The Pure One Flow is the internet radio version of Pure’s entry-level One DAB/FM radio, which is as simple a tabletop radio as you could find.

At just £100, it’s one of cheapest internet radios you can buy. There are DAB, FM and internet tuners, a 3.5mm input, headphone output, clock and alarm settings, and support for Pure’s chargepak should you want to power the radio by battery.

Online song service
You can also access Pure’s Flow Songs service. This acts almost as a cross between Shazam and iTunes, allowing you to identify and then buy any track you hear on the radio (provided it’s part of 7Digital’s library).

Talking of connecting, it doesn’t seem quite as secure as other radios we’ve seen but it gets there in the end – Pure is working on a fix which it says will help in busier wi-fi areas.

So, plenty of functionality for your £100. It’s simple to use, and the control knobs on the front make navigation easy enough, even if entering text can be a little laborious.

Sonically, it does enough. It’s fairly well balanced, dialogue has authority and there’s decent weight – for a £100 radio, that is.

For the money, the functionality is excellent and the sound is good enough.
