Sony makes some of the best TVs we’ve tested. From awesome OLED models that deliver the ultimate home cinema experience, to affordable LCD displays aimed at sports fans, the Japanese giant really does have something for everyone.

Better yet, the John Lewis Summer Sale is serving up epic deals on a host of top-rated Sony TVs. The sale, which runs from now until 24th July, brings serious savings across a wide range of models including What Hi-Fi Award winners such as the Sony Bravia XR X90J.

The X90J is quite simply one of the best, big, mid-range 4K TV you can buy right now. In our review, we hailed its "authentic colour balance, superb motion handling and solid feature set". We also loved its sleek design and zippy Google TV OS, while support for Dolby Vision HDR for movie buffs and HDMI 2.1 with 4K120, VRR and ALLM for gamers make this a great choice all around

We rated the 65-inch X90J the full five stars at its original RRP of £1079. Now that it’s down to just £899 at John Lewis, it’s an absolute steal.

Want something even more premium? Sony’s OLED TVs deliver deep, inky blacks that make for truly immersive viewing experiences. The Bravia A9 OLED TV is a What Hi-Fi? Awards 2020 winner and packs Sony’s best 2020 OLED picture performance into a compact, convenient design.

Android TV, Dolby Vision HDR, Dolby Atmos sound and Sony’s Acoustic Surface Audio wizardry are all included, along with what was then Sony’s finest picture processing. In fact, our only gripe with the 48-inch A9 at the time was the price. Happily that’s no longer an issue, as it’s down from £1049 to £999 in the John Lewis Summer Sale. Nice.

On a tighter budget? The Sony BRAVIA KD43-X89J (was £579, now £499) is an awful lot of TV for the money. This appealing 4K LED panel is chock-full of features including the ultra-smart Google TV operating system, which serves up your favourite streaming apps in concert with Google Assistant voice controls.

Bargain hunters should also consider the budget-friendly 65-inch BRAVIA KD-65X81J. Sony’s entry-level 4K LED TV for 2021 offers great bang for buck. Despite the tempting price tag (was £799, now £699), this Google-powered TV boast Sony’s brilliant Processor X1 chip, plus Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos sound.

Want to go big? Sony’s makes some of the best super-sized 8K TVs on the market. Sure, 8K content is scarce right now, but 8K TVs can upscale 4K and HD content, delivering four times the pixel density of their 4K TV siblings to create stunningly-lifelike pictures.

Sony's flagship TV for 2021, the Z9J is fitted with some of the very best tech that Sony has to offer. This include a full array LED panel, the best XR Contrast Booster level and three 48Gbps ports with HDMI 2.1 features, specced at 120Hz rates for 4K material. In short, it’s fully loaded and futureproof.

Better still, John Lewis has slashed a whopping £850 off the 85-inch Z9J, bringing the price crashing down from £5849 to a bargain £4999. Choices, choices…
