The new channel will sit alongside BBC One HD and is part of the BBC's cost-cutting proposals

The BBC plans to replace the BBC HD channel with BBC Two HD as part of cost-cutting proposals announced by the corporation today.

The proposal comes as the BBC announces nearly 2000 job cuts alongside plans to save £670m a year.
