Panasonic introduces flagship high-def LCD projector

Panasonic PT-AE3000

According to Panasonic, the "dramatic increase" in the projector's dynamic range has been made possible by the newly-engineered Pure Contrast Plate technology that blocks unwanted light from the path of projection. Images can be projected up to a maximum diagonal of 120in, from distances of 3.6m to 7m.

The PT-AE3000 also now incorporates 100Hz Motion Picture Pro frame creation technology to improve sharpness with sports programmes and fast-moving action sequences in films, and the new Detail Clarity processor 2 ensures more faithful reproduction of detail, as the name suggests.

To make set-up even easier, the projector's Split Adjust mode allows the screen to be split into two halves, one to make picture adjustments and the other to see how those adjustments affect the image.

For those concerned about energy consumption, the Intelligent Power management reduces the lamp power to exactly the level required depending on the material being shown.

And the Lens Memory feature allows the user to preset three different zoom/focus positions and recall those positions at the touch of a button.

Connectivity includes three HDMI 1.3 inputs (all three support Deep Color and x.v. Color) and two component inputs.

The Panasonic PT-AE3000 will be available in the UK from November for £2199.99.
