Spotify launches video player for ads – will music videos follow?
Music streaming site Spotify has teamed up with Sony Pictures to add a video player to its site, initially for advertising

Initially planned as an advertising tool, to give advertisers a choice of visual format alongside the current audio option, there's speculation it could lead to music videos appearing on Spotify.
The borderless Flash video player will run within Spotify, according to our sister site Stuff.tv, and give users the ability to pause, play and rewind the ad trailer. As you might expect, there's no fast forward option to avoid watching the ad!
The first video advertisement will appear today, for the Denzel Washington and John Travolta thriller The Taking of Pelham 123.
