Morphy Richards clearly has no illusions about this product – it describes it simply as a ‘DAB Boom Box'. But don't let that and the colour put you off: here's a DAB/FM CD player with mains or battery operation, although running it on batteries – no less than eight of those big D cells – makes it significantly heavier. There's also a digital optical output and a worthwhile remote control, this range of features making the Morphy Richards a pretty complete bedroom or kitchen listening solution.
Punchy and well-focused, the it's also an enjoyable and expansive listen, but only as long as you leave the preset EQ settings well alone.
