What Hi-Fi? Verdict

You'll get an impressive amount of bass weight from the Spark but the overall sound needs to be more refined and subtle

Pros

  • +

    Impressive bass weight

  • +

    good detail levels

Cons

  • -

    Needs more refinement and subtlety

The 4GB Spark has a 1.46in display that also acts as a convenient control.

Pressing the side of the screen allows you to change tracks and skip menus at pace.

The player also comes with a protective rubber case, which is useful for sporty types, and comes in handy considering the fact that the SA2940 feels fragile.

There's an impressive amount of bass weight on offer and detail levels are amiable, but refinement and subtlety aren't especially high on the agenda.
