NEWS: Sony and Sky join forces to offer TV on the PSP

Owners of the PlayStation Portable will soon be able to watch their favourite movies and TV shows on the device, thanks to an agreement signed between Sony and Sky. The deal forms a joint venture company to deliver video on demand to PSP users in the UK and Ireland.

The new company will focus exclusively on providing video content to the 2.3m+ PSP owners in the UK and Ireland, and will deliver both TV programmes and movies to the device. The two partners, who have equal status in the new operation, are also working with other content providers in Europe to expand the service to PSP owners in other European countries.

More details of the service will be announced next month.
