Is it possible to hook up headphones to the analogue output (L and R phono) of a DAC such as the rDAC or Dacmagic? Maybe there is a connector you can get to do this? Also would it work? i.e. is the ouput power too low to run headphones? This would save having to get an amp as well.

Cheers Smile

No. Why dont you look at a DAC with a built in headphone amp, Beresford or Fubar spring to mind.

There are a few vintage headphones, such as the AKG K1000 that can run off the phonos out of an amp. Otherwise modern headphones are way too sensitive and you should look for an amp with a jack socket.
