onkyo 609 low volume

hi all

 

just replaced my 506 by 609 but... in 506 i just went to volume 40 max to get heavy sound but with 609 i am at 65 volume. please guide me

I've also bought this receiver as a replacement for a Sony 2400ES that packed up. The Onkyo definitely needs turning up louder. Mine is set as relative volume rather than absolute so I see the volume as a dB scale but I've watched Blurays at -10 (with max being Innocent.

Not sure if it's a problem though or just how this amp is?
