The world's original animated feature film is set to become the first movie to debut on UK Blu-ray ahead of its DVD release

Coming to Blu-ray on November 2 is Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the world's first animated feature film. And the release will mark another first for Disney – it'll be the first UK title to be available as a Blu-ray ahead of the DVD release.

The film will intially be released as a Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack, but those only wanting the DVD will have to wait another week to buy it. And as you might expect for the first of Disney's new Diamond Edition series, the Blu-ray comes loaded with extras.

Viewers will be able to go on a virtual tour of Hyperion Studios, where the film was made, and even see archive drawings and pictures, plus rare footage of Walt Disney.

The Magic Mirror guides the viewer through the movie with extra content, even recognising viewing patterns to suggest what to look at next, while DisneyView sees Disney artist Toby Bluth extending the image beyond the conventional 4:3 frame to 'fill the otherwise dark edges of the screen with beautiful custom imagery'.

Other features include an audio commentary with Walt Disney, a variety of documentaries and of course the inevitable Heigh-Ho karaoke singalong.
