What a deal! Sony’s five-star wireless headphones have crashed to less than $400

When it comes to the best wireless headphones on the market right now, we voted the Sony WH-1000XM6 as our overall top pick. But you are probably wondering if your budget can stretch as far as Sony’s flagships.

Well, right now, the Sony XM6 have dropped to $398 at Amazon – that's just over $60 off their usual price, and an excellent deal on some excellent headphones.

The Sony WH-1000XM6 are some of the best premium all-rounders money can buy. Not only do they look great, they are also extremely comfortable to wear, and boast spacious, musical sound alongside superb ANC and call quality.

Next-generation Bluetooth features such as LC3, LE Audio and Auracast support as well as 360 Reality Audio Upmix for Cinema, which adds Sony’s spatial audio processing to any content you’re watching in stereo, are also all on board.

And, of course, our expert testers praise the XM6s during their full review for being able to “deliver the most detailed, dynamic, precise and open sound we've heard from a wireless Sony flagship.”

For noise-cancelling, Sony has upped the total mic count from eight on the WH-1000XM5 to 12 on the XM6s. Six on each earcup, four spaced around the outside edge and two placed inside, beneath the removable ear pads.

This led us to say: “We found the Sonys to be wonderfully consistent in dealing with bass and midrange rumblings and just giving you a nice clear background on which you can place your music.”

High praise, which earned the XM6s a spot at the top of the best noise-cancelling headphones we have tested. There is the standard Ambient Sound mode, too, if you actively want to let outside noise in.

If you’re looking for a new pair of premium wireless over-ear headphones, you won’t go far wrong here. Packed with great features, excellent ANC and even better call quality are all excellent reasons to take the plunge, but so is securing just over $60 off at Amazon.
