Hardware companies, movie studios and disc distributors get together to boost the format

Just launched by the British Video Association is a new website,, designed to raise public awareness of Blu-ray Disc and keep buyers up-to-date with new releases on the format.

The site will also promote forthcoming hardware launches, as well as showing buyers how to get the most out of their BD-based systems.

It has a search engine for disc titles, and will promote new releases in an onscreen player.

Supporters of the site are Disney, Fox Home Entertainment, Lionsgate, Paramount, Sony Pictures, Universal, Warner Bros, as well as hardware manufacturers LG, Panasonic, Pioneer, Samsung, Sharp and Sony.
