Selling for £499 in a range of standard coloured finishes, or £669 in walnut veneer, it measures 11cm wide, 30cm deep and 5cm tall, weighs 6.5kg and combines 2x25W amplification with built-in speakers to give a frequency response of 50Hz-25kHz.
As well as the 30-pin Apple dock connector on its upper surface, the Hohrizontal 51 has a line-in socket and a USB port, plus a composite video output to allow iPod or iPhone menu screens to be displayed on a connected TV. It comes complete with a remote control.
In addition to being a speaker dock, the unit can also function as a shelf, being capable of handling loads of between 10 and 25kg – depending, Finite Elemente says, on the condition of your wall.
Standard high-gloss finishes are black, white, anthracite, red, cobalt and mallow.
