Ecosse Conductor CA-1 Original review

The Conductor has lost its edge to newer rivals Tested at £50

Our Verdict

Award-winning cable that's still good but it's no longer the class-leader it was

For

  • Good detail resolution
  • strong dynamics
  • affordable

Against

  • Refinement and timing is not as good

Give The Conductor something complicated like Buddy Rich's The Beat Goes On and it digs up a crisply detailed sound, with a well-integrated midrange and bass.

It's a touch heavy on the top end though, with treble verging on the strident, while it lacks some drive next to its near rivals. It's a good cable, but falls short of greatness.
