Calling all audiophiles, cinephiles and AV enthusiasts! The 2026 Australian Hi-Fi Show is less than three months away and is the go-to destination to experience the very best in homegrown Australian hi-fi talent alongside some of the biggest global brands, all under one roof.

Whether you’ve previously attended a Show or you’re planning to go for the first time, the Australian Hi-Fi Show, brought you by Australian Hi-Fi, Sound + Image and What Hi-Fi?, gives you the chance to get up close and personal with your favourite audio brands, listen to your own music to help you make your upgrade shopping lists, and talk in-depth with brand representatives about all things hi-fi.

Once again, the Show is taking over the Sydney Central Hotel, a short walk from Sydney’s Central Station. Exhibitors can be found on the ground and lower ground levels, along with the level 1 mezzanine and, of course, the ‘Corridor of Sound’ on floor 9. A new feature for the 2026 Show will be a stronger focus on Australian brands, who’ll be setting up residency in the first few rooms on floor 9, so you can more easily experience the very best of homegrown hi-fi.

As always, there’s so much to see and hear that many attendees have found the best way to experience the show is to take your time over two or three days, letting you spend longer in each room and get a better gauge on what gear you like and what you love.

If you’re keen on making a multi-day affair of it, or alternatively you’re travelling interstate to attend, you’ll be pleased to know you can save 20% on room rates at the Sydney Central Hotel when visiting the Australian Hi-Fi Show.

  1. Head to www.the-ascott.com, search for and select ‘Sydney Central Hotel’
  2. Select your desired stay days – the show takes place from Friday, May 1 – Sunday, May 3
  3. Select ‘Promotion’ from the drop down menu and enter the code EVENTSTW.

Max is a staff writer for What Hi-Fi?'s sister site, TechRadar, in Australia. But being the wonderful English guy he is, he helps out with content across a number of Future sites, including What Hi-Fi?. It wouldn't be his first exposure to the world of all things hi-fi and home cinema, as his first role in technology journalism was with What Hi-Fi? in the UK. Clearly he pined to return after making the move to Australia and the team have welcomed him back with arms wide open.
