You don't have to splash the cash to pick up some of the best wireless headphones on the market. Fortunately, our top cheap pick are a super affordable pair from Sony. Even better news, they've just dropped in price to the lowest we've ever seen them.
Right now, you can grab the Sony WH-CH520 for just $38 at Amazon in all six colors. That's a massive $21 off!
And while they may not have noise cancellation at this low price, they do have a mega 50-hours of battery life. They're the headphones I use on a daily basis and I'm a big fan.
The Sony WH-CH520 are certainly cheap and definitely cheerful. Nailing the basics with comfort levels and enjoyable sound quality, they even go the extra distance with 50-hours of battery life onboard. Built to last and supporting Bluetooth Multipoint, they're great for the money. And right now, this discount is available on six different colors; Black, Blue, Cappuccino, Pink, White and Yellow.
You can't expect the Earth when you're paying this much for a pair of headphones, but the Sony WH-C520 still manage to achieve a massive amount considering their budget price.
They're comfortable, built to last, have a generous battery life and offer balanced and engaging sound. It's no easy task, but Sony manages to create a competitive pair of headphones that don't break the bank.
They're not glamorous, neither folding nor coming in premium materials, but at this price, it's best to keep your expectations realistic. Though our expert reviewers still said: "They’re put together well, and feel built to last. The headband adjustment mechanism, for example, is robust and moves with reassuring solidity."
The C520's also have a lot to offer when it comes to features. Bluetooth Multipoint is supported for connecting to two devices simultaneously, as well as compatibility with SBC and AAC codecs.
Plus, a built-in mic allows for voice control through your source device's Google Assistant or Siri, while Sony's trusty Headphones Connect app offers EQ presets and a five-band equaliser for your own custom adjustments.
In terms of sonic performance, our testers reached this verdict: “They’re not the most expressive headphones you’ve ever heard where low frequencies are concerned, it’s true. But the low end they generate is solid, deep and properly controlled at the leading edges, so the WH-CH520 express rhythms confidently.”
As previously mentioned, there's no ANC onboard, but that's not surprising given the price. What is surprising is that these budget headphones have managed to drop to their lowest-ever price, just $38 at Amazon. But hurry, it's only for a limited time.
