NEWS: Cube speaker from IXOS makes a handy travel companion

OK, it may only be mid-October, but if you're starting to think about Christmas presents, this nifty little cube speaker from IXOS could be just the thing to add to your laptop or MP3 player.

The XMM238 is just £15, and will work with any audio product that can output to a 3.5mm line-in socket. It's battery or USB powered, making it ideal for use on holiday or while travelling.

The speaker has two side-facing drive units for stereo sound, a power output of 2x1w and can run for up to eight hours on four AA batteries.

It's available in white, black or pink from HMV and Halfords, among others, and comes with a 3.5mm-to-3.5mm audio cable and USB power cable. The XMM238 measures just 7cm square and weighs 130g.
