Sennheiser CX 300-II review

Best in-ear headphones up to £50, Awards 2010. Sennheiser's CX 300-II's offer a no-brainer upgrade for your portable player at a good price Tested at £30

Our Verdict

Best in-Ear Headphones up to £50, Awards 2010. An improvement over their already-excellent predecessors, these are the no-brainer upgrade for your portable player

For

  • Great clarity, detail and texture, comfortable

Against

  • Nothing of note

At this stupidly low price you could jump to the conclusion that these Sennheisers are nothing but cheap tat.

But, as you should guess from their star rating, you'd be wrong. The CX 300-IIs are a dramatic improvement over standard-issue buds, producing advanced levels of detail across the board.

They do require some running in before they perform at their best, but after a few hours of play your music's high frequencies sound crisp and fresh, while bass notes display dexterity and discipline.

It doesn't take a genius to calculate the CX 300-IIs offer sensational value; they're a simple and extremely effective upgrade.
