Handles top end sounds quite beautifully and with a huge amount of detail

For

  • Digs extremely deep for detail
  • excellent in the top end

Against

  • Not quite as good in the lower end
  • expensive

It's fitting that one of the most expensive interconnects also serves up the greatest amount of detail. Nordost's the Baldur manages to differentiate dynamic subtleties with ease. The top end extends beautifully, and it's incredibly rhythmically precise.
Our only slight criticism is that for the Nordost to achieve its awesome sense of rhythm, something has been sacrificed in the lower frequencies. It sounds leaner in the bass than the likes of Chord's Chameleon Silver Plus.
