RE: What vinyl are you listening to?

BBB, the 150 has been reviewed recently but they people seem to recommend the 110 as an entry and then onto the 200 as the upgrade.

Augustine's - Augustine's

Breton - War Room Stories

Seth Lakeman - Word of Mouth

BBB, can you keep me in the loop regarding any possible Oriental carts, please?

I don't want to contravene any house rules here, but it sounds like an interesting enterprise.

Will do Charlie.

RE: What vinyl are you listening to?

I went form MP110 to the MP200

The MP200 is simply a great cartridge, worth every penny IMO

BTW

Playing Depeche Mode - Violator on my new amp - a Brio R - all is well!

IF I can get some stock in and sell it, and IF I can learn to fit a cartidge to my turntable, I may get one myself.

RE: What vinyl are you listening to?

Dog Eat Dog - Joni Mitchell

Or should that be drum machine eat drum machine. Some good songs buried under the Whitney Houston-style-zeitgeist production.

Copper Blue - Sugar

I always preferred Bob Mould and The Pixies to Nirvana. This Sugar LP is the definitive expression of their power-pop-rock-quiet-loud thing.

Beaster - Sugar

Loud, gnarled, layers of sweat patch guitar wrapped up in thick planks of bass heavy, drum sodden despair. Not very poppy.

Led me back, as is often the case, to:

Flip Your Wig - Husker Du

Then,

Workbook - Bob Mould

Forgive the verbosity, I've been afternoon drinking. Mrs. CJ and the children are away. Make vinyl hay whilst the winter moonshines.

RE: What vinyl are you listening to?

So sorry that steve's amp didn't work out after his patience and good Rega support. What a nightmare.

Agree with Charlie about 'Dog Eat Dog' - those bloody drums. Very much a lesser affair, I think. Love 'Copper Blue' and 'Zen Arcade.'

Today:

The Harvest Bag-Harvest label sampler.

The Pentangle-Solomon's Seal.

Lush-Spooky

Lush-Split. I still think Lush were massively underrated. This is one of the greatest albums of the 90's. Great guitars and how can you not be in love with Mikki.
