Sony Walkman Clear Stereo

Have an old Sony Walkman NWZ-S639F player and was wondering if anyone uses the Clear Stereo feature.Not much difference I have found apart that some mid-to-high frequencies tend to be louder with the option turned off while bass tends to be fuller with it on, I may be wrong.Can anyone enlighten me on whether this feature actually improves anything?
