Its only 3 and Virgin mobile that now allow tethering isnt it ?

I'm on Vodafone. Haven't had any problems with tethering.

you are correct. On vodafones website they say you can use your monthly allowance how u like including tethering. Should you want more data you can get an extra 2GB/month for a whopping £15/month extra !!
So its tmobile/orange/o2 to avoid....

The help I need though is why does a vista PC not allow when an an android tablet and XP PC will, is there a setting in vista I can change

Im trying to tether my HTC desire by hot spot to to a pc running Vista, but all i get is a blocking page from 3, the mobile then is blocked with the same page till i restart it. The phone tethers to a Motorola Zoom wifi and to a pc running XP ok but not to a Vista pc. im struggling to understand how 3 can differetiate between devices and actually work out im tethering.
Any ideas please on getting a Vista pc to tether.
