Partington is known for its very solid, industrially styled and highly effective metal stands. So are the Heavis (sic) more of the same, or a change of tack?

As soon as your speakers hit these stands, the Partington signature is obvious: bags of headroom, a solid soundstage, warmth and detail in the midrange, and deep bass sure to get your pulse racing in no time.

So the Heavis are another worthy addition to the Partington family tree, yes? Well, we've no complaints about their sonic performance – but we're not so sure about the £400 pricetag. Unless you have a couple of grand's worth of speakers, and electronics to match, the Heavis will be wasted on you.

However, the key reason they lose a star is you can get very similar performance from the Partington Dreadnought Broadsides (£250). Still, if you demand the best, here it is.
