If comfort was the yardstick, these open-backed, sophisticated cans would take the prize.

Sonically, the Audio Technica ATH- AD1000s give a spacious picture that although is packed with detail, we found to be a bit too polite.

The bass is a tad lean, but the midrange smooth and the treble crisp. Well worth your time to take a listen.
