Monitor Audio cuts the prices of its i-decks
8 Feb 2012

Monitor Audio has slashed the prices of its i-deck iPod/iPhone dock systems.
The i-deck 100 is down £100 to £200, while the i-deck200, which was £400, is now £250.
Monitor Audio says that "The new prices will allow many more music lovers the opportunity to experience the extraordinary i-deck performance", and that the two have been "re-positioned for the more budget-conscious music lover".

I think the iPod dock market is tough to break into. B&W have done amazingly well with the Zeppelin, and have made it hard for other manufacturers to get a foot in the door.
The MA docks are great sounding docks, especially the 200, but now they're silly value too. Bargain.
Perhaps Phillips will do the same for the top-of-the-range Fidelio (my favourite) and then I will be a really happy bunny. In the meantime, I am off to hear the MA dock to see if my mind can be changed. I just love the wooden fidelio's looks.
I think this is a great idea and I also think that it is about time that a business truly has the customers in mind. I hope that their sales fly through the roof and that they see many years of success.
Reducing prices on expensive technologies are some great strategies for the companies and normal everyday people who otherwise would not have been able to afford it.
Ok, so they've not been selling well despite good reviews....
