Hello,

I currently use a 2m cartridge in my turntable but I am thinking of upgrading it to either bronze or black. The question is can I just replace the stylus or do I have to replace the whole cartridge?

You can upgrade the stylus - all styli in the 2M range are interchangeable, but it's not a full upgrade.

There are tweaks in the Bronze and Black bodies that aren't present in the Red or Blue bodies.

I suppose that what I'm saying is that if you stick a Bronze stylus on a Red or Blue body, you will have about 85-90% of a Bronze, not 100%.

But it's £75 cheaper than a whole Bronze...

Other kit: More than I should have. My loft is creaking.

Interesting!
Is it the same percentage if you go to a black?

It's a rough guide, rather than an absolute measured, but I would expect it to be in the same range.

Thank you
I spent an hour on the Ortofon web site last week looking for which styli would fit on which cartridge but all I could see was that they recommended direct replacement so this is vey useful to know.
